My wife and I just finished cleaning out the garage a bit to make room for storing our new bicycles.  Wow, I forget how easy it is to collect a bunch of stuff over the years!  Anyway, we're all ready, just have to install some hooks to hang the bikes from the rafters.  Looking forward to getting back into biking.  Probably one of the first trips we'll take, I'll put on a back pack containing a couple of sketch pads and some pencils.  When we ride down by the wooded area close to the lake, we'll stop and do some out sketching of the beautiful scenery.  Luckily, my wife is also an artist, so she totally gets the idea of taking in the outdoors and drawing as a another form of relaxation. 

Enjoying the weekend.  Sitting here with my wife on the sofa.  Getting ready to have dinner and then we'll catch a movie.  Tomorrow, I plan to work on my website and on some projects in the studio.  Being in my studio, working away on any type of project, makes me feel like a completely whole person! I'm sure all of my fellow artists have a feeling like that.... when you're making art, it's like a fish in water, swimming effortlessly with the current.

 

Yes, it's true we are part of a bigger, worldly community of fellow human beings, but it's still good to admit what country one calls home.  Mine is the USA.  Love my country and feel pride for the great things our country stands for and, at the same time, feel sad for the bad things about my country that could always be improved.  But for today, set all that sad feelings aside and enjoy a bit of patriotism and have a great time with family and friends.  God Bless America, where we are free to create art and other forms of expressions.
